The Artist:

    Dor

othy lives in Loveland Colorado after having spent her first twenty four years in New Jersey. Her background includes a B.A. from Glassboro State College in New Jersey and an M.A. from Colorado State University. The degrees prepared her for a career as a science educator. Her background also includes extensive travel throughout the United States. These two entities have motivated her art pursuits. Science has given her the incentive for detailed presentations. Travel has inspired her varied creations. Dorothy's philosophy of art is simple: Art is a reflection of reality as perceived by her mind's eye and mirrored on paper. She bids you to relax and enjoy!

The Art:

Dorothy composes her work in either transparent watercolor or pen and ink, but never mixed. The watercolors are executed on 300 lb. paper using only Winsor-Newton colors. Her work is distinguishable by irs subtle color tones, its realism, and its attention to detail. Her themes are varied but always include an appreciation for nature and/or reverence for the past. Her favorite subject continues to be the Canada Goose for which she has garnered over thirty awards.

The Prints:

Each original of Dorothy's is scrutinized for suitability of printing. The originals are developed only from artistic inspirations. The prints must represent Dorothy's highest quality work and the theme must have a bread appeal. After selection of an image, it is then printed in the same size as the original art. Each offset lithograph is printed on acid-neutral, museum grade paper. The edition is personally inspected, signed and numbered by the artist. Dorothy also offers remarques on any of her prints. This personal touch has been highly popular since she varies each remarque and uses watercolor as the medium.
